2. What data we collect
Data you provide
- Account data: name, email address, password (stored hashed), date of birth/age.
- Profile data: photos, bio, gender, pronouns, interests, languages, what you are looking for.
- Verification data: live selfie check results (we store the outcome, not raw biometric templates, unless you consent).
- Content: messages, voice notes, images and other content you share.
- Payment data: handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
Data collected automatically
- Location data: approximate or precise geolocation (with your permission) to show nearby people, places and to power Shield Defence.
- Device & usage data: device type, browser, IP address, app interactions, and diagnostic logs.

3. Special-category data
Because meetraR is a platform where users may reveal information concerning their sexual orientation, your use of the Service may involve special-category personal data under Article 9 GDPR. We process this data only where you have made it manifestly public by choosing to share it on your profile, or on the basis of your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time by editing your profile or deleting your account.

5. AI features
Some features (smart replies, translation, the AI companion) send the relevant text to trusted AI service providers to generate a response. We do not use your private messages to train third-party foundation models, and content is processed transiently to deliver the feature you requested.
6. Who we share data with
- Service providers (processors): hosting, database, storage, AI inference, payment and analytics providers acting on our instructions.
- Other users: your profile and content are visible to users as designed by the features you use.
- Legal & safety: law enforcement or authorities where required by law or to protect users from harm.
- Corporate transactions: in connection with a merger, acquisition or asset sale, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal data.
7. International transfers
Your data may be processed outside the UK/EEA. Where it is, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain data to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce our agreements.

Depending on your location you have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. 10. Security
We use technical and organisational measures including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your data and to notify you and regulators of qualifying breaches as required by law.
11. Children
meetraR is strictly for adults aged 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If you believe a minor is using the Service, contact safety@meetrar.com.
12. Changes
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Please review it periodically.
