Online safety

• Take your time. Get to know someone through chat before meeting.
• Keep conversations on meetraR until you trust the person.
• Never send money, gift cards or crypto — this is the number-one sign of a scam.
• Be wary of anyone who refuses video calls, professes love very quickly, or has an inconsistent story.
• Protect your personal information: home address, workplace and financial details.

Meeting in person

• Meet in a busy public place the first few times.
• Tell a friend where you’re going, who with, and when you expect to be back.
• Arrange your own transport so you can leave whenever you want.
• Stay sober enough to keep control, and keep an eye on your drink.
• Trust your instincts — if something feels off, leave.

Use meetraR’s safety tools

• Shield Defence: share your live location, set check-in timers and instantly alert a trusted contact if something feels wrong.
• Verification: look for verified members who confirmed their identity with a live selfie.
• Report & block: block anyone who makes you uncomfortable and report behaviour that breaks our rules.
• View-once photos: share sensitive images that can only be viewed once.

If something goes wrong

If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Then report the user to us at safety@meetrar.com so we can take action and help keep others safe. If you have experienced sexual violence or abuse, consider contacting a specialist support organisation in your country.

Consent & respect

Consent must be freely given and can be withdrawn at any time. Respect other people’s boundaries and expect the same in return. Read our Community Guidelines for what we expect from everyone.
